Pečarič Oil Mill independently produces 20 types of high-quality, cold-pressed organic oil from dry kernels, the whole family being involved, harvesting fruit, cleaning the plantation, drying kernels, and pressing. Pečarič has a long tradition of oil milling. Before the First World War, grandfather Niko and his brothers produced walnut oil for lamps. Walnut kernels were pressed in a wine press as they had nothing more appropriate at hand. Walnut kernels were also often used for lighting: they were set aflame to illuminate rooms, and when burnt out, a new one took their place.Their products in beautiful packaging are sold at their house in Drašiči.
