Until 1914, it was the largest and most modern sawmill in the Carniola region.<br \/>To facilitate timber transport, a 35-kilometer forest railway line was gradually constructed.<br \/>The sawmill operated until 1932.   <\/p>\n<p>Today, this area marks the meeting point of the Dolenjska and Ko\u010devska regions.<br \/>The large clearing nearby is a popular destination for excursions.<br \/>In a small cabin by the forest road, you\u2019ll find information boards about the history of the sawmill, and in the nearby Scout House, there is a model of the sawmill on display.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The steam sawmill was built by the Auersperg family in 1894.
