The gorge of Radulja creek
Radulja is a several dozen kilometers long stream, a left tributary of the Krka River. In its upper course, in a shorter but wild canyon with almost vertical banks, it creates smaller loud and murmuring waterfalls and cascades. The Radulja Gorge begins near Klevevška Toplica, rising about 100 meters upwards. Here, Radulja has deeply cut into the band of Triassic limestone, overcoming the steepness with numerous small waterfalls, which are frozen in severe winters but very loud in spring and autumn. The loud rapids of Radulja gave the nearby Klevevž its name, as the term ‘Klingenfels’ means ‘singing waterfalls.
