Open vineyard cottages
Every weekend, the vineyard cottages on Trška Gora above Novo mesto open their doors to hikers. You can taste the delicacies of the hard-working Trška gora wine growers. First and foremost is the indigenous cviček, a variety of red and white grapes or wines, but in addition to the cviček varieties, other varietal wines and sparkling wines are also produced. You will learn that the best wine is when it is poured from a barrel into a glass.
Wine-growing hill of Rigelj
The route follows a figure of eight through the Rigelj wine-growing area. It connects three churches – Mali Rigelj, Cerovec and Gorica – and winds past a number of vineyard cottages. They have wooden signs on which the owners can hang signs in the shape of a salami, a glass and a house, informing passers-by when they can taste the local wine, enjoy the local delicacies or even spend the night in the cottage.
