The Gallery of Naive Artists Trebnje has been operating as part of the public institution CIK Trebnje since 1994, with its beginnings dating back to 1971. The gallery features a collection of works by naive and self-taught artists, which originated from the activities of the Artists’ Colony for Self-taught Artists (first organized in 1968). With an extensive collection that represents over 320 authors from 50 countries, the gallery regularly organizes exhibitions, lectures, discussions, and presentations. The gallery has presented works from its collection in Slovenia, as well as in Poland, Slovakia, Italy, Croatia, and Serbia. Through the colony, the gallery explores contemporary trends in self-taught art, with artists exhibiting their works, creating and exchanging ideas.
