Natura 2000 Museum

At the Natura 2000 Museum, located in the renovated building of the former Auersperg ironworks in Dvor, you can explore an interactive exhibition about the industrial heritage of Suha krajina and the natural features of the Krka River. Discover how the Krka once powered mills, sawmills, and one of the largest industrial facilities in the Dolenjska region, while the ironworks itself became renowned for its artistic iron casting.

The area is also known for its travertine barriers and remarkable biodiversity, protected within the Natura 2000 network. The museum can be visited independently or with a guided tour (by prior arrangement) in Slovenian or English.
