
Viewpoints in Kočevski Rog
Veliki Rog (1,099 m) is the highest peak of the Kočevski Rog. At the summit, there is a viewing tower offering views of the vast forest landscapes of the Rog forests, the neighboring Dinaric ridges, and even the Alpine peaks. It is included in the Trdinova and Roška hiking trails. The easiest access is from Žaga Rog.
Sedlata Gorica (821 m) is the highest peak of Pogorelec, rising above Podturn. At the summit, there is a take-off site for paragliders and a small shelter. From here, there are views of the thermal valley and the surrounding area. The ascent to the peak is via the Paragliding Trail, starting from the parking lot of the Forestry Department in Podturn.
Sveti Peter (888 m) is a peak named after the Church of St. Peter, which was destroyed during World War II. At the summit, there is a wooden tower offering a view of the Suha Krajina region, along with a small mountain shelter. Several marked trails lead to the summit, with the most popular route starting from Podgozd, accompanied by the stations of the Stations of the Cross.
