Habitat Temenica

The Temenica Habitat is named after the Temenica River, which in its final stretch flows through the Temenica habitat across the Zaloško field and, as a left tributary, flows into the Krka River near Češča vas. The course of the Temenica River also marks the boundary between the Municipality of Straža and the Municipality of Novo mesto.

The Temenica Habitat is a living space for numerous animal and plant species, making it an experience for all those who enjoy observing and experiencing nature. Since the beginning of the project, more than 550 different plant and mushroom species, as well as over 270 animal species, have been recorded in this area.

The platform presents all types of plants and fungi with photographs taken in the habitat itself, showcasing those observed in this area to date.

Similarly, all the animals observed so far are described and visually presented: birds, amphibians, reptiles, mammals, insects, spiders, crustaceans, and fish. Since each bird species calls in a unique way, we have also included a sound recording of their calls for each bird species.

E-vodič T

The E-Guide T is a mobile application that allows visitors to explore the Habitat Paths, which are displayed on the map by clicking on each individual path. Descriptions and images of the living organisms in the habitat, which were actually taken from the Temenica habitat, are also provided, with specific GPS coordinates for each. This way, visitors can identify which animal and/or plant is located at the same location as them. The visitor must have location services enabled on their device.

Access to the E-Guide T can be obtained by visitors upon purchasing a package (5.00 EUR), and it is valid for one month from the purchase date. Other packages are also available, where the E-Guide T is already included in the price.
